Felix Day has partnered with CardCash. On 354 U.S. gift card brands you can now see two prices instead of one: what a new card costs, and what someone else’s unwanted card costs.
CardCash has been buying and selling gift cards in the US for 20 years. People sell it cards they will never use, and CardCash sells them on, pre-owned, for less than they are worth. Every card comes with a 100% risk-free 45-day money-back guarantee for any balance discrepancies.
“If Felix Day is on a mission to create a new holiday, we want to be part of it,” said Yechezkel Herz, Director of Marketing and Product at CardCash.com.
Until now we showed you where to buy a gift card. Now we show you where to buy it and what it should cost.
What changes for shoppers
354 brands now show two prices, not one. A new card and a pre-owned one, side by side. We never rank them against each other, because they are not the same thing.
Before, you could see which shops sold a brand and what each one charged. Now you can also see whether someone is selling that same card pre-owned, and how much less it costs.
These are the gift cards Americans look for a discount on most often. Thanks to CardCash, most of them now have one:
What we found across the 354 brands
The biggest discount and the biggest saving are rarely the same card. Our deepest discount saves you $11.38 on a $25 card. A smaller 7.2% one on a $2,000 cruise card saves you $144.
Across the 354 brands:
- 78% cost at least 5% less than the card is worth
- 41% cost at least 10% less
- Half are discounted by more than 9%, half by less
- The biggest single discount was 45.5% off, on a Macaroni Grill card
This is based on research we ran on July 24, 2026, into the cards CardCash actually had for sale. Every discount is measured against what the card is worth. Where a brand had more than one card for sale, we show the cheapest.
Two things surprised us. First, the big names barely discount at all. Uber, DoorDash and Instacart were all within a few percent of full price.
Second, the percentage can fool you. That 45.5% Macaroni Grill card is a $25 card. So the biggest discount we found saves you $11.38.
Cruise cards are discounted less — between 4% and 12% — but they come in much bigger amounts. Royal Caribbean cards go up to $2,000, at 7.2% off. That saves you $144. More than twelve times the best percentage on the list.

Why discounted cards matter more than they look
Two thirds of digital gift cards are bought by people for themselves. As a reason for buying one, that beats birthdays and thank-yous put together.
Research in March 2019 asked 3,389 US consumers what they do with gift cards. Two thirds of the digital cards they bought — 66% — were for themselves rather than for someone else. Asked why they bought one, more named their own use than named any occasion, birthdays included. And 80% said they use a gift card the same way they use cash.
A discount on a gift card isn’t only a cheaper present. Buy yourself a dress on sale and nobody argues it wasn’t a gift. Gift cards work the same way, and the industry has been counting “self-use” as a category for years.
Most of those cards are for family restaurants and big supermarkets. That is exactly where the discounts are deepest — Panera Bread, IHOP, Applebee’s.
A thank you, and where this is going
Felix Day began with a simple idea and an unreasonable ambition: to make a new holiday. Not another product — an occasion. A day for the plain joy of giving something to someone.
Launching in the United States is a big step for a small team, and we did not take it alone. CardCash has been in this market for 20 years. They did not have to take a chance on a young site with an odd idea about holidays, and they did anyway.
“Gift card shopping shouldn’t stop at finding the right brand,” said Felix Day founder Ramūnas Bruzgys. “With CardCash prices alongside retail options, shoppers can now see whether paying face value actually makes sense.”
